Forever Families

Xander’s Family
Hi, it’s Xander, the dog that my old owners did not want anymore. I think I was too much dog for them and I don’t think they understood me because they used a shock collar so I wouldn’t bark and a muzzle so I wouldn’t chew on stuff. They reached out to GSSH to see if they would take me and it was the best thing that could have happened.

Chloe’s Family
Hi, it’s me, Chloe, the dog that was dropped off at the shelter because my owner did not want me anymore. The shelter called GSSH to see if they could take me because there was no interest in me and they were going to put me to sleep.

Darcy’s Family
Hi, it’s Darcy, the “rescue only” dog in the shelter. A really nice shelter volunteer named Magen met me and knew there was something special about me so she called a few people she knew who would hopefully rescue me from the shelter.

Vail’s Family
Hi, remember me, Vail…you know, the strong willed, dominant, sable Shepherd! Let’s see, where do I begin? Well, I was picked up as a stray and taken to the Baldwin Park animal shelter. A nice man walked around the corner, saw me and stopped to greet me. He was really nice and said he would be right back.

Abby’s Family
Hello, it’s me, Abby, the playful girl! My foster daddy came out to meet & temperament test me after Aunt Magen contacted him and I scored because I was taken in by GSSH. Once I got to my foster home, it was kinda scary because there were so many dogs and I was unsure of them all. But soon, I learned how to play and boy, did I have fun!

Urban’s Family
Hi, it is me, Urban. My old owners had dropped me off at the shelter’s night drop with a muzzle on. It was a small space and I was scared. I couldn’t even pant because of the muzzle. That experience made me very unsure of humans and I was feeling let down. I was put in quarantine because the shelter thought I was unpredictable and aggressive but being dumped the way I was, could you blame me?

Baxter’s Family
Hello, remember me, Baxter, the really laid back boy. I was initially adopted out to a wonderful family that loved me for almost two years then we found out that the home we were living in was sold and we had to be out within 3 weeks.

Bree’s Family
Hi, it’s Bree! My old owners dropped me off at the shelter but I wasn’t sure why. I’m just a young pup and the shelter was not a good place for me to be. After I was rescued by GSSH, I got really sick. My immune system was not doing so good from being at the shelter and it just got worse after I was spayed. It’s a good thing I was rescued when I was because I may not be here otherwise!

Zoey’s Family
Hi, remember me? Zoey, the puppy that was found on a street in Los Angeles. A really nice lady went door to door trying to find my home but didn’t have any luck so she contacted GSSH to see if they would take me and they said yes!

Olivia’s Family
Hi, it’s me, Olivia, the sweet girl that was turned into the shelter by my former owners. The shelter was a very lonely, noisy place and I got so sad and depressed, I felt like no one wanted me. Then one day, these nice people came to the shelter to visit some Shepherds. They walked by my kennel and stopped to say hi to me.

Taryn’s Family
It’s me, Taryn, the 91 Freeway girl! My new daddy now calls me Tara. Anyway, I was found on the 91 Freeway by a very nice man that rescued me right before a car almost hit me. He pulled over on the freeway and took a picture of me to send to his wife. His wife sent my picture to German Shepherd Safe Haven and they wanted to meet me.

Whitney’s Family
Remember me? Whitney, the fearful and aggressive girl that was put into quarantine and could not be viewed by the general public at the shelter. Well that all changed when a nice man came to visit me to see if the reputation the shelter gave me was true.

Xena’s Family
Hi, it’s Xena, the 7 month old puppy that was found as a stray in the Lake Elsinore area and no one came to the shelter to claim me. I ended up getting sick in the shelter and was in quarantine so no one from the public could visit me.

Quincy’s Family
Hi, it’s me, Quincy, the handsome long haired boy. Well, it all started when Aunt Kelly pulled me out of the shelter when my old owners did not want me anymore. I was so thankful that she found me.

Sheldon’s Family
Hi, remember me, Sheldon? I was labeled aggressive and fearful at the shelter and was the one that was charging and barking at my new foster dad when he was looking at me. Well, he saw something special in me and decided to rescue me with another dog named Ranger.

Ulani’s Family
Hi, I am Ulani, the puppy that needed an experienced owner. Well guess what, I found them! Yeah, it took me long enough but I finally found the best fit for me.

Victoria’s Family
Hi, it’s Victoria! I am the young pup that was taken in by the Safe Haven from a really nice lady that could not keep me any longer. I had no idea what I was in for when I got to my new foster home. I love toys and balls and there were so many to choose from to play with and I also had 5 dogs to play with too!

Ranger’s Family
Hi, remember me, Ranger, the other black dog? It all started at the shelter when my future foster dad wanted to meet me because my time was up. I am a sweet boy and did well with his temperament testing so he rescued me.

Ollie’s Family
Hi, remember me, Ollie? My story began on New Year’s Day where I was surrendered to German Shepherd Safe Haven. It was a sad day for me and my old daddy, he did not want to do it but had no choice. I am just glad he found the Safe Haven and they decided to take me in.

Peyton’s Family
Hi, it’s Peyton. My story and life really started when these three nice people met me at the shelter. They fell in love with me, so they told the people at the shelter that they would come back to adopt me after my neuter surgery. I remember the day they came to pick me up. When they walked into the clinic, I was so happy to see them again, I started wagging my tail like crazy so they could see how happy and grateful I was to see them and get out of the shelter alive.
