We Need YOUR Help!!

Friday, March 1, 2013

We rescued this big, beautiful boy we have named Wrangler from the Baldwin Park shelter a few days ago and he has developed a high fever. Fluids were administered yesterday which led to a small improvement in his condition. Today, however, he is back in the hospital on fluids again because his fever of 104.7 has not broke yet. If he doesn’t show considerable improvement today, we will need to run further tests to determine the problem. As his vet bills increase, we need YOUR help! Click here to DONATE NOW and in the notes section at checkout, you can indicate you would like your donation to go to Wrangler’s care. You can donate as little as a dollar, every bit helps! Thank you in advance for your generosity. We will continue to keep you updated on Wrangler’s condition.

UPDATE – Saturday, March 2, 2013

Wrangler spent most of today at the hospital again in isolation. More fluids & meds were administered and x-rays were taken. We found out that he is battling pneumonia so a nebulizer was used to more effectively deliver the meds into his lungs. He is resting in a foster home tonight but will need to go back to the hospital in the morning for another round of fluids & meds. His vet bills are climbing and we need your help!! If you can donate to Wrangler’s care, that will help us tremendously! Please spread the word to your friends and family. Even a small donation of $5 will help!! Thank you to those of you who have already donated to his care, we very much appreciate your generosity. Wrangler is not out of the woods yet so please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

UPDATE – Sunday, March 3, 2013

Wrangler was back at the hospital today for more meds and fluids. The good news is that his fever finally broke! He is slowly starting to regain his appetite and he is readily drinking water now. His breathing has also gotten better though it is still somewhat labored. He still has a ways to go before he makes a full recovery but we are optimistic that he is on his way! Tonight, he even had the energy to start playing with toys and worked quite diligently at removing a squeaker from a toy he got out of the toy box. Definitely a sign of improvement! He will remain on a series of medications to fight the pneumonia until it completely clears up. In the meantime, we can definitely use your help as we continue to provide him with the best possible care.

UPDATE – Tuesday, March 12, 2013

It’s unbelievable that it’s been only about a week and a half that Wrangler was diagnosed with pneumonia. With the wonderful care from the veterinary team at Marina Hills Animal Hospital as well as in his foster home, Wrangler is doing very well! He’s regained his appetite and energy and his puppy personality is shining through now. He absolutely loves playing with toys! He is still on antibiotics to ensure that the pneumonia completely clears up but we have no reason to anticipate any complications relating to the illness.

Thank you so much to our friends and supporters for donating to Wrangler’s medical care! It has helped us immensely and we are so grateful for your generosity!
