Sierra’s Family

At last I found my loving home!

Remember me? The white girl, Sierra, the most popular dog since Peyton on the internet? Well, anyway, my story began only a short couple of months ago. This really nice man came out to the shelter to pick me up. I knew he saved me from the awful shelter and I was very happy to be out of there. Boy, was I surprised when I got to my foster dad’s home! There were a whole bunch of dogs I could play with. There was Peyton, Reese, Penelope, Olivia, Ranger, and that silly one, Ollie. Ollie was the most fun because he could keep up with my energy level and he was just a big puppy; I liked that about him. All the other dogs were not as accepting of me because I was the new one to the pack. But finally, Reese and Peyton warmed up to me, and we all had a good time playing. Daddy was not happy when he looked over, and we were playing tug a war with one of the dog beds, but hey, we were all working as a good pack would. Anyway, I had a good time at his home.

One day, we all went to this big adoption event called Pet Expo, and I had so many nice people pet me and give me lots of love I thought for sure I would find a loving home, but no one filled out a application on me. I think some people are a little taken back by me being all white. But I was okay with it because I knew I would be safe at my foster daddy’s home and could play for hours with all the other foster dogs. I overheard my daddy talking to Aunt Tricia that he could not believe how much my bio was being looked at on the internet but no one was filling out any applications. I was a little sad because I saw a few of my foster brothers and sisters go into adoptive homes. Reese, Ranger, Ollie, and Penelope all got adopted. I only had a few fosters to play with and they did not really want to play with me. Well, recently I overheard my daddy talking on the phone and he said, “Sierra is still available.” I just laid my head back down thinking okay, I guess that did not mean anything, just another person wanted to know about that white dog. I was starting to get a little depressed, but my daddy came home with a puppy named Ulani and boy, did she lift my spirits. We ran around and played; it was so much fun, I totally forgot for a couple of days about the whole adoption thing. Well, Ulani, went to visit Aunt Kelly for a while to get spayed and spend some time up there. Peyton came back for a couple days and we had fun playing, but then he left again.

Early one morning, my foster daddy said, “Okay, we are going to the park.” I was thinking, “Why are we going to the park so early?” Well, when we got to the park, there was this really nice family, and they were petting me and just giving me lots of love. Their two boys both took me for a walk, and I was running having a good time. They even had a bossy dog named Fritz that liked to bark at me, but we finally became friends. Once we got used to each other, he seemed like he would be a good brother. Well, a few days later, I heard my foster dad say that if everything went okay with the reference checks and home visit, would they be ready to take me the day of the home visit. I was so happy inside and hoping that those other two things work out because I really wanted to go into a forever home. I overheard my foster dad on the phone asking if it would it be okay to be there around 4:30 on Saturday. Well, I was excited and nervous about leaving my foster home because my dad took excellent care of me. Aunt Tricia came down and I jumped in the car and we started out to go to San Diego. Oh boy, that was a rough ride traffic for two hours and then I threw-up in the car 5 miles from my new home. Daddy and Aunt Tricia took care of everything. We got there and I went in and the home was nice and I had Fritz who welcomed me and did not really bark at me, but we were running around playing. My new family was giving me lots of love and I was really happy. They finished up the paperwork, took a picture, and Aunt Tricia and Daddy left . With my new family I get to go on lots of walks, go to the park and play. Fritz and I will become good playing buddies and I know he is going to teach me a thing or two about playing with a tennis ball. I was a little impatient at first to find my forever home, but I knew that I would find the right fit eventually. I am sure in love with my new family just as much as they are with me.
