The Queen has finally found her Palace!!

Hi, remember me, Emily, the white Shepherd? Well it all started when Aunt Tricia noticed me at the shelter in Riverside and called Tom (who ended up being my foster dad). Aunt Tricia asked if he wanted her to temperament test me and he said yes so she took me out of the kennel and tested me and of course, I passed all of them! He came out a couple days later and pulled me out of the shelter. I was all stinky so he took me to the vet that same day to get a nice bath and to remove all the ticks on me. Believe it or not, I had over 140 ticks on me! The next week, I was spayed and then healed up pretty quickly because my foster dad took good care of me after the surgery. Soon I was ready for my first adoption event and it was a big one! It was the Pet Expo and it was three days long! I was a little nervous the first day because it was loud, there were a lot of barking dogs and a lot of people. But I starting getting used to it all and by the end of the last day, I felt like a pro attending events. During the event, I did catch a lot of people’s attention, they all wanted to know if I’m a German Shepherd because they haven’t seen a white Shepherd that looked like me before. With all the attention, I was surprised that there wasn’t any interest in adopting me. I’m the Queen so I knew that it could take a while to find the perfect home for me so I was patient.

Over the next few months, I attended a lot of adoption events and everyone thought I was interesting, being a white Shepherd and all, but still no luck finding my perfect home even though I had a couple meet & greets. That’s okay though because I got a chance to live in a different foster home for a while so I could make new friends. I lived with a little dog named Capone and a medium sized dog named Lady. It was a lot of fun because we got to hang out and run around the yard and play. Who knew Aunt Katie’s home would be so awesome!

One day, I had another meet & greet with a nice lady at my favorite park. When the lady got out of her car and walked over to me, I knew right then that she was the one! She sat down on the ground and I gave her a big kiss on the cheek, I think the feeling was mutual. We spent over an hour together and I was so excited because she seemed like the perfect match for me. The reference and home check had to be done first and I was happy when I overheard my foster mom say that is great, everything seemed fine. The lady decided to go with the foster to adopt option to make sure we are a perfect match but I think we both already knew we were.

The day came for me to go to my foster to adopt home so Aunt Wilu and my old foster dad Tom decided to take me there. It was a long ride and when we got there, I met my foster mom’s mother and her niece and it was so much fun. I could tell they really liked me and it was all going to work out. I used to sleep on my old foster mom’s bed and my new foster mom said I would not be sleeping on hers. Well, that lasted one night! I was sleeping on her bed from then on. And then after the first week, she decided she was going to adopt me. I was so excited that I finally found my forever home! My old foster dad and Aunt Jen came out to finalize my adoption. It was such an exciting day, I was running around giving everyone kisses. I wanted everyone to know how happy I was! They completed the paperwork and then the family picture was taken. Wow, it took a while to find my forever home but it was worth the wait!
