Is there a minimum amount required to make a donation?

No. We have had donations as little as a dollar. Any amount large or small helps our dogs.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit charity so any cash, check or credit card donation is tax deductible as allowable by law. We will provide you will a donation receipt. If you are making in kind donations, we will note the approximate value of the item(s) on the donation receipt. For more information about charitable tax deductions, please consult your tax accountant.

Can I make a recurring monthly donation to GSSH?

Yes, you can. Your donation amount can be automatically charged to your credit card every month. You do need a Paypal account to make a recurring donation. This option is available on our Donation page.

How will my donation be used?

All donations are put in a special account that is used only for the care of our rescue dogs. It is used to cover the costs of many things including medical care, vaccinations, grooming, food, and toys.

Can I make a donation for a specific dog?

If you are making an online donation, please indicate in the Notes section that you would like to sponsor a dog and write in the dog’s name. If you are paying by check, please put the name of the dog in the notes area on the check.

If I cannot foster, adopt or volunteer, can I sponsor a dog?

Yes, you can. We encourage you to meet with the dog you would like to sponsor first. If you do choose to sponsor him or her, you can make the donation online or mail in a check. If you are making an online donation, please indicate in the Notes section that you would like to sponsor a dog and write in the dog’s name. If you are paying by check, please put the name of the dog in the notes area on the check.
