Meet Bree, our most recent rescue
This sweet young girl was sick coming out of the shelter. We brought her to the vet for a check up and had tests run because we feared she had distemper. She then went back to her foster home where she rested comfortably the rest of the day. Unfortunately, this morning, her condition escalated when she ran a high fever so we immediately brought her back to the vet. They put her on IV fluids, applied cold packs and gave her antibiotic injections to help her immune system fight off the infections. Yaga, a vet tech at Marina Hills Animal Hospital, and Tom, Bree’s foster dad, sat with her and comforted her while the fluids were being administered. We are happy to report that Bree’s fever broke and she is regaining her strength and energy and is also getting her appetite back. The best news is that the lab results came back and she does not have distemper. She is on meds right now and it looks like she will make a full recovery. Once Bree is completely healthy and we get to know her a bit more, she will be available for adoption.
